Purpose
To coordinate existing ministerial committees,
making policy for them and monitoring their progress
in achieving the goals of MCC Omaha.
The Council of Ministries (COM) is composed of
the heads of our ministries. At our COM meetings we exchange information of upcoming events,
support one another in ministry, and plan major
themes and projects together. The COM decentralizes
the church's decision making concerning its
ministries, spreading it out over eight
commissions. It empowers the lay leaders of the
commissions, allowing them to assist in making
decisions about their ministries. The COM prevents
disorganization by bringing all the commissions under
a single umbrella.
Below you will find the categories and perhaps
subcategories. As you can see, there are many
ministries in this church and much work to be done.
If you see a ministry that you are interested in,
please contact the head of that ministry or the
church office, and we will direct you in the right
direction.
