OUR VALUES

These are our values; and what drives us to fulfill the mission of this local body, and the Great Commission of Christ Jesus.

1.  Priesthood of All Believers (1 Peter 2:5-10)

We are committed to the concept of the Body of Christ using their spiritual gifts for the common good of all. To this end, we will work toward the empowerment of the ministries of non-ordained servants. The pastor's role and our lay leaders' roles are to equip the laity for ministry in the church and in the community in addition to their own one-on-one ministry. Equipping the laity will be accomplished through training opportunities and through practices that encourage lay initiative, leadership, responsibility and authority in various ministries of the church.

2.  The Lost Coin, Sheep, and Child (Luke 15)

We recognize the inherent value and dignity of each and every person. We will measure success in multiples of ONE. Where one life has been touched by the presence of Christ through our ministry, we have born fruit for the dominion of God.

3.  Love One Another (John 13:34-35)

We are committed to be those who seek in all things to know love in our relationships. As Christians, we make decisions based on what is good for the whole of the church or community rather than what is only good for ourselves as individuals. When we experience broken relationships with others we are committed to seeking reconciliation.

We are committed to showing love to others through the development and practice of various aspects of congregational care, i.e., hospital/home visitation, welcoming ministries, follow-up calling. We are committed to showing love to others by supporting works of mercy and compassion, i.e.. NAP luncheons, pantry, Christmas baskets. To this end, we will participate in community and inter-faith activities that seek these same goals.

4. Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16)

We are committed to equipping all people, through boldly preaching and teaching God’s Word , to following Christ in every sphere of life, and working towards excellence in all of our ministries.

5.  Go Into All the World (Matthew 28:19-20)

We believe that our Christian life is a gift from God and we will endeavor to always share with others what we ourselves have received. We will pursue attitudes and knowledge that encourage growth without compromising our integrity and our commitment to following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. We are committed to reaching out to all people with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to working with and celebrating with Christian denominations to glorify Christ’s Universal Church.

6. Run the Race (Hebrews 12:1-2)
Because we are committed to ministry with persistent and enduring faith, we are committed to the power of prayer. We encourage every member of the body to pray regularly for the church, its leaders and its members. We are open to spiritual creativity, innovation and change. We are committed to being those who respond to challenges and conflicts in a positive and constructive manner.

7.  House of Prayer for All People (Isaiah 56:7)
We are committed to justice and inclusivity, nondiscrimination, equal access by and equal opportunity for all.

8.  Being Good Stewards (1 Peter 4:10)
The church is the presence of Christ through God’s people. We believe in God’s abundance and together endeavor to grow in to giving tithes of our time, talent and financial resources in support of the ministry of our church.

9.  Created In God's Image (Genesis 1:27)
We are committed to being a church where people receive spiritual, emotional, mental and physical healing.
